Branding and Website Rewrite

Client: Selina Gerosa, Graphic Designer

The Client: Selina (they/them pronouns), is a graphic designer and web developer based in Boston, MA.

The Challenge: Sel wanted to formalize and strengthen their brand voice. They also needed help putting their many interesting design projects into words that would resonate with potential clients and employers.

The Solution: I worked with Sel to craft them a detailed tone guide. This guide outlines their unique selling point (USP), their ideal clients, and the kinds of words and phrases to embrace and avoid when writing for the Sel brand. Sel was so pleased with this work that they commissioned me to rewrite their entire website. For the site, Sel and I worked together to:

  • Better outline their products and services so that site visitors got a fast sense of the work Sel does

  • Reflect their design philosophy clearly on the About Me page to differentiate them from the competition

  • Make navigation and contacting Sel a little more intuitive for site users

Result Highlights: Sel’s career positively skyrocketed after the website revamp. They landed steady full-time freelance work within weeks of launch, and then got their dream job in March 2021 as a graphic designer for a prominent agency!
