The Client: Confetti Stage Inc is an award-winning community theater based in Albany, New York. They are dedicated to exploring the diversity of the human experience through art.
The Challenge: Traditionally, Confetti Stage hosts an annual short play festival, ConfettiFest. Each year, local writers submit scripts, and the five best are chosen for stage production. In 2020, due to COVID-19, Confetti Stage decided to make ConfettiFest a short film festival and release it online. This meant shifting promotional efforts towards the digital sphere and soliciting contributions in lieu of the usual ticket sales to support the online event.
The Solution: I garnered excitement for the new online festival prior to release via dynamic Facebook and Instagram posts that utilized vivid graphics and “curiosity copy” tactics to pique interest. These posts contained strong calls to action to join Confetti’s email list, and those who did got more exclusive copy and content about the shows delivered to their inboxes. In the end, this campaign resulted in:
